The Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland
The Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland is gaining popularity each year, with travelers pulled like magnets to the Vatnajökull National Park which spans more than 5,000 square miles of the South East side of the island. The volcanic region boasts turquoise rivers, craters and the tallest icecap in Iceland, rising 7280 feet over the black sand that touches the sea. Arctic foxes live here too, seen by those who are lucky enough, darting around the Dettifoss waterfalls, one of the Jökulsá River’s most powerful features.
