This Friday, July 26, 2024. the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games left the stadium to come to the heart of the city. For the first time in history, the Olympic delegations paraded on the Seine in front of hundreds of thousands of people gathered on the quays. Athletes, spectators and television viewers admired a grandiose show, magnified by the performances of Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura and Céline Dion. At the end of this total spectacle imagined by Paris 2024 and Thomas Jolly, it was in a final collective relay of sports legends that Marie-José Pérec and Teddy Riner set the Cauldron ablaze, before it flew off to light up the Paris sky.
